If you want to share your Core with a friend or family member, that’s fine — but it’s important to remember that the app learns about your typical heart rate patterns by studying your past meditation sessions. It uses this data to generate personalized baselines for you, which it relies on to determine your Calm and Focus in each session.
This means that if someone else completes a meditation while logged into your account, it could affect your baselines and impact your future results.
Here are some different ways to avoid that.
Option 1: Have Them Create Their Own Account
The best way to share your Core is to have the other person download the app to their phone and create their own account. This way, the app can track their biometric results separately from yours, they can save their own list of Favorites, and receive their own personalized recommendations.
Once they’ve created their account and are ready to meditate, you should un-pair your Core from your phone and let them connect it with theirs (a Core can only be paired to one phone at a time.) For detailed instructions about how to pair Core to different devices, refer to this article.
Option 2: Manually Delete Their Meditation Results
If someone else does complete a meditation while logged into your account, you can always manually delete their results from your history. This will prevent their biometric data from affecting your own baselines.
In the “History” tab of the app, scroll down to find the results from their meditation, swipe left on it, and tap “Delete.”
Option 3: Turn on Shared Use Mode
If you’re expecting that a lot of other people are going to be trying out your Core, or it’s going to be happening frequently, you can toggle the app into Shared Use Mode. This is a kind of “demo” mode that protects the data in your account, and lets people meditate freely without any of their results being saved.
To activate this mode, navigate to the “Profile” tab, tap “Preferences”, and toggle “Shared Use Mode enabled.”
