“What should I do next?” is a common question for many people when they begin using Core. The short answer is, there isn’t a single “right” way to proceed, and different people will find that different kinds of meditation content work best for them.
The most important thing is to remember to meditate consistently and regularly; the specific type of meditations you do is much less important. Put aside a few minutes — every day if you can — and experiment with some different kinds of meditations in the “Explore” tab. You’ll start to learn what works best for you.
Here are some suggestions for beginning to explore Core’s meditation content.
Try a Recommendation
Core will recommend a small set of different meditations for you, based on your primary interest and your past history. These Recommended meditations will appear on the “Quick Start” tab when you open up the app, and you can see more of them in the “For You” section of the “Explore” tab. This is a good way to try a variety of different types of meditations.
Take a Class
New instructor-guided meditations are released almost every day. The latest class will appear on the “Quick Start” tab when you first open the app, and many more can be found in the “Core Studio” section of the “Explore” tab.
If you crave variety, this is the way to go. It’s also a good way to discover who your favorite instructors are — and once you’ve found them, you can tap on their portraits to explore even more of their previous meditation sessions.
Try an Unguided Session
You may find that you don’t always want explicit guidance from an instructor. The meditations in the “Breath Training” and “Sound & Music” are unguided, so you can practice different techniques and breathing exercises on your own, or just get in the zone with a soothing soundscape.
These unguided meditations can be customized before you begin them. You can add background music to a Breath Training session, or customize Core’s vibration pattern when playing a Sound & Music track.
Once you discover a meditation you like, don’t forget to “Favorite” it, so it’s easy to return to later!
